Kari is a true Florida native! She was born in Fort Myers and grew up in Punta Gorda. Kari also has a bit of Florida country in her too. She always had animals growing up – from cats and dogs to goats that she raised and showed in 4-H competitions. Being raised around horses drew her to work with an equine vet for a couple of years. She even had an internship her senior year of high school working for the vet. Later, she transitioned to small animal veterinary where her interest in helping pets continued.
After high school graduation, Kari went to St. Pete for vet tech school. While in college, she worked with alligators, and even became an alligator wrestler for a while.
Returning to Southwest Florida, Kari landed in Fort Myers, the big city! One afternoon when driving past the newly relocated SVS hospital, Kari decided to stop in and fill out an application. We are sure glad she did! She is a great addition to the SVS team. When Kari first started at SVS, she was in our ER/ICU department taking care of emergency cases. Through the years, she learned and moved through the different departments and now she is Dr. Eisele’s scrub nurse working in surgery on orthopedic, soft tissue and back (neuro) cases. Kari enjoys the challenging work and loves working with people, learning new things and helping her patients return to a happy life with their family.
When Kari is not working at SVS, she enjoys kayaking, fishing (and cleaning them herself!), the beach, and pretty-much any outdoor activity. She has one dog, Trigger, and one cat, Baxter, and loves spending time with them too.
