Aubrey is one of those rare Southwest Floridians… she was born and raised right here in Fort Myers. When she was younger, Aubrey volunteered on a horse farm for several years and worked with the on-site vet which helped to inspire her love of animal medicine. Aubrey knew that the veterinary field was where she was meant to be.
While attending South Fort Myers High School, she earned her veterinary assistant certification through the Veterinary Academy at South, as well as earning her AA degree through dual-enrollment. South is the only Lee County High School that offers a certified assistant veterinary technician program, which is why she wanted to attend there. She also had the opportunity to intern at Lee County Domestic Animal Services and learned real-life experiences with the animals.
After high school, Aubrey attended FGCU. She has taken a little time off, but will return this fall to major in biology and earn her bachelor’s degree. Then she plans to go onto study and become a certified veterinary technician.
Aubrey has a dog named Petal and a fish named Uno. In her free time she likes to read, ride horses, and play the piano, guitar and the ukulele. She loves working with animals and plans to continue in this field for the rest of her career.
