Dr. Oliver was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma. She originally attended college at Oklahoma State University and had no idea what she wanted to do as a lifelong career. She left college and joined the United States Air Force during Desert Storm. After leaving the USAF, she returned to college in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her major was still undecided at that time. She moved to Colorado Springs, CO where she continued her studies but began working nights in an animal emergency center as a receptionist and kennel technician. That experience changed her life, and she finally knew what she wanted to do. She then returned to Oklahoma State University to obtain her DVM.
After vet school, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and practiced as a small animal veterinarian. In 2008, she built her own practice, Haven Animal Hospital. After a few years, she left Las Vegas, and in 2013 Dr. Oliver took a position as a small animal ER veterinarian in Kansas City, KS. She has always had a passion for emergency medicine and critical care. She loves the challenges. After experiencing a few cold winters, Dr. Oliver needed to thaw out, so she moved to southwest Florida! She joined SVS shortly after move to the sunny state.
Dr. Oliver lives with her two kitties Molly and Renatta. She enjoys going to the beach in the early morning hours to shell as well as observe and play with sea creatures like sea stars, crabs, sea hares, etc. Dr. Oliver likes playing poker and loves watching the OSU Cowboys play football!
